My boyfriend and I recently went away for a last minute get-away. We wanted to stay in burlington but we're so happy we didn't. We came across Black Bear because we noticed most of the rooms had its own jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces. There wasnt very many people staying at the time because it was an "off" night so it was so quiet and intimate. Jill was so sweet and helpful we really lucked out. Our complimentary breakfast was fantastic. We can't wait to go back again in the summer!

Found Black Bear inn on LivingSocial so we decided it would be an excellent opportunity to get out of Boston for a few days. The inn is up on a mountain which is exactly what I was hoping for. Having gone in May, there was no snow but we hiked up one of the ski trails right next to the inn and got a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Dinner was delicious and the complimentary breakfast each morning was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Jill was so nice and as helpful as could be. Plus the inn is only a 25 minute drive from Burlington. I would definitely go back.

My husband and I have been coming to the Black Bear Inn every fall for the past 6 years. The rooms are great, we have always stayed in the rooms with a private hot tub, very relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast is always delicious, mini muffins, fruit, and you have your choice of 2 dishes with home fries and toast. The inn keepers are very nice and are always willing to give some advice on things to do around the area. We will definitely be coming back again next year!

If you're looking for a getaway, go to the Black Bear Inn. Great rates, comfortable rooms, and attentive innkeepers. You even get your choice of two complementary hot breakfasts, both of which are always delicious. The inn is the perfect distance from Burlington and other attractions, so it feels like the ideal mountain getaway. Bonus points for being a green hotel. Skip the big, impersonal hotel and go to the Black Bear Inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Black Bear Inn when we went to visit VT a few weeks ago and it was fabulous. We would definitely go back. It was our first time in a bed-and-breakfast, so the decor was a little strange, but the ambiance is amazing. The owners are super nice and helpful. Convenient and easy to get to Burlington and surrounding cities. Beautiful view. Pool and hot tub with outdoor lounge chairs and seating. Each room has a little balcony with chairs to enjoy the cool air on. Coffee and tea are available pretty much whenever you want some. All these things are great, and then there's the breakfast. I can't begin to describe how delicious the breakfasts are here. I dream about them. Upon returning from VT I have been inspired to make mini-muffins for breakfast multiple times because of the Black Bear Inn. Every morning you get a new type of mini-muffin, fruit selection, and juices to try. You can go with cereal if you so choose, but I would not recommend it. You don't want to miss out on the real deal. Hot options change every day and you generally get two options and it will be hard to choose, but you can't go wrong. It's amazing. Every morning, my husband and I jumped out of bed because we were so excited to get to breakfast! We never tried the dinner...perhaps we should have. If it's anything like breakfast it'll be well worth it.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the black bear inn for New Year's Eve. We had an awesome experience. Jill was so helpful and answered all of our questions. The food was delicious - both dinner and breakfast and our room was cozy. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub! This is a great place and bolton valley is a great ski area.

What a great inn! Terrific people, terrific location & great rooms. We just got back from a long weekend stay at the Black Bear Inn for a Valentines Day treat. We stayed in the hideaway room, which is detached from the main inn, but comes equipped with a gas "wood" stove & a hot tub for 4. Our hosts, Brian & Jill, were very accomodating, even during the reservation process. Just a delight to meet & have as our hosts. We enjoyed dinner at the inn on Saturday night. Although I wasn't feeling too well, and didn't eat much, I could tell the chef meant business. The duck I ordered was cooked to perfection - so tender, and seasoned just right with orange & nutmeg. We were able to get dessert to go & enjoyed it back in our room. (Don't even think about not trying the cheesecake!) We had some trouble with our hot tub, but Brian was quick to help us out & showed us the reset switch in case we needed it. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast before hitting the slopes of Bolton Valley. You have your choice of two hot breakfasts, as well as a host of cold accompanyments, like fresh fruit and a pastry. We easily picked up our lift ticket vouchers, and Jill showed us how to ski on / ski off. (A bit tricky for a snowboarder, but it's a short walk) We were very happy to have the option upon our return to the inn. Throughout the rest of our stay, we really enjoyed our room - it was clean, had extra blankets & pillows, and felt very cozy for the two of us. We also liked the extra privacy of being detached from the main inn. We will definately look to stay here again & recommend it highly! You will not be disappointed.

We first found this place in 2004 and have been going back regularly since. Brian & Jill, the innkeepers, are warm, wonderful people. The rooms are great, especially the ones with the private hot tubs. Breakfasts and dinners are delicious. This is a favorite get away for us -- a little sanctuary in the mountains of VT. There are lots of things to do nearby, including a tour of Ben & Jerry's ice cream plant, apple picking, Burlington, VT. LOVE the Black Bear Inn

Very happy in general with the room and the very nice and helpful staff/owners. Hide-Away room was great, private hot tub, etc. Shower was very small and water temp jumped around, but pretty easy to overlook that flaw at this beautiful place.
